Are YOU a Descendant? Do you want to learn more about important African Americans in Harrisburg history?

In partnership with the Commonwealth Monument Project, we seek to celebrate 100 influential voices who influenced Harrisburg’s historical African American community in the late 19th and 20th centuries.

We are telling the stories of these 100 women and men, and want to honor their descendants. Our project will culminate in a two-day blast of activities in August 2020. Festivities will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, 4:00-5:30 PM, and will be televised via Channel 20.
